Three days could never be enough time in my favorite city. For as long as I can remember, I have envisioned my elder self as the following: a well-dressed, determined, and busy woman in Manhattan who worked her butt off from 9-5 while also maintaining a great social life in the city that never sleeps. Through my three days in NY, however, I realized that the city is so fast paced that you almost need to allot more time for rest and recovery because of the mere energy that surrounds daily life! During my short trip, I stayed in an extremely well located hotel (The Plaza) which allowed me to walk everywhere (mainly to the shops! I was in NYC for Black Friday, after all!!). Also, for foodies like me, New York is the best place to be (check out my favorite pasta in the image gallery above). The sheer variety of fantastic food options never ceases to amaze me, and it seems like every time I have been to New York, I have discovered a million new restaurants that I need to try. Even if I spent a year in New York, I still don’t think I would get through my entire restaurant list. More than this, the culture and lifestyle variations among the different boroughs in New York is the coolest thing to me. Greenwich Village for a hip scene, Manhattan for the luxury shopping experience, Queens for the diversity; and among all of these areas lie different cultural sights like museums, art and graffiti walls, and more. There is so much to imbibe in a place like New York, and every time I leave, my heart feels unfulfilled as I know I haven’t seen it all. Honestly, even though the fast paced life (and walking) may take some getting used to after my university experience in the suburbs of Massachusetts, New York is still my favorite place in the whole world, and I truly feel that the melange of luxury, hard work, busy street life, culture, and diversity encapsulates all that I wish to experience in life. And for my lazier moods….let’s just say I’m glad I live in the era of Netflix 😉
