I looked into my closet this morning, frustrated that most of the pieces I owned screamed fall in the colors that they were; I thought they would be suitable only to wear during the months of October and November. Yet, inspired by all the monochrome looks that I’ve been seeing on Instagram and in magazines recently, I decided to wear this scarlet coat from Anthropologie with a very spring-worthy, all white monochrome look underneath. It was an experiment of wearing one look, or even one piece, cross seasonally. And I think it worked.
I basically recreated a look that I had worn last fall, and merely inverted the all black monochrome to now an all-white. It’s crazy how much we tend to underestimate the pieces in our wardrobe for their potential to be versatile, year-round pieces. Don’t just bury your fall/winter wardrobe at the back of your closet: challenge yourself to use these pieces in a new way this spring!
