Just a week ago, I remember wondering why the summer sun wasn’t totally out yet in California. Thus, I brought up the weather app on my phone and lo and behold, there was to be a quick switch from the 70 degree pleasant and breezy weather to 80-90 degree days with scorching heat in no time. Now that it’s come, and I recognize that it’s likely quite warm in most places around the world, I thought you guys would find tremendous value in these tips on how to dress to beat the heat! Now, recognizing that some of us might be more comfortable showing our skin than others, I’ve made sure these items are ones that can be worn by almost all. Here’s what I’ve got:
#1
Grab an oversized, long tee
to pair with short shorts,, wear over or tucked into your favorite denim, or over your favorite cotton leggings! Fun style tip: you can even wear these as dresses sometimes if they’re long enough and belt them at the waist.

Make the jump: buy a jumpsuit
Because who doesn’t love having to only put on one item of clothing, right? It’s like a two for one deal–you get the pants and the top all in one! If you’re looking for an all around season one, then I suggest grabbing a long sleeve one where the sleeves can be rolled up in a color that is neutral (like the second one in my options below). However, if it’s just for summer, then you can have a lot more fun with the colors and prints!

Find some easy breezy flowy dresses
Because more power to us women and our gorgeous silhouettes in dresses! Yes, it can be a short dress, but I’ve been loving maxi dresses even in this heat. Who wants to get unnecessary sunburn on their legs?

Stay whine-free with wide leg pants
Might I suggest a more versatile color for this one. Perhaps a darker blue, a black, or even a white that would work from summer well into fall! The one I’m wearing below is from Uniqlo and you can find it on my liketoknowit site!

Cop your favorite logo cap
This one I’m wearing below is Anti Social Social Club (ASSC), one of my favorite streetwear brands. I think caps are the most subtle way to slip in a little brand/logo action without screaming too loud.

I hope all the summer bugs out there found this helpful and at least got some inspiration from this to go out there and protect yourself from the immensely scorching, yet undeniable gorgeous, summer sun! Beat that heat before it beats you…
XOXO,
