As I stared at my itinerary, I immediately got excited seeing the word “safari,” imagining the perfect opportunity to channel my inner animal. Little did I know or remember, that the Dubai desert/safari is one almost completely devoid of animals (obviously, except for camels). “Oh well,” I thought, “at least I’d be the one to fill the void of animal diversity.” I opted for a full-on, animal print on animal print outfit that I’m still absolutely obsessed with.
I channeled my inner cheetah girl, which by the way was my first ever concert as a pre-teen, when I wore this printed blouse from H&M paired with my Tod’s bag. Look familiar? It totally is. I’ve worn this top so many times (it was such a steal; I think I got it on sale for literally $5)! Furthermore, this bag has become a staple in my wardrobe because it adds character to any outfit—no matter how simple. I wore the top a bit differently this time, however. With a white tank underneath, I left the blouse unbuttoned and tucked in half of the top around the backside. I wore plain black jeans from Hollister, and finished off the look with silver shoes from Zara.
If this look wasn’t already extra enough, I added a pair of animal printed cat eye sunglasses from Loomrack. Lastly, when I reached the desert, I wore a black scarf in typical UAE fashion to shield my hair from the sand and insane wind. Did I nail looking like a local?
