Arriving in New York on a Friday afternoon at lunchtime had me a bit startled to say the least! The energy, however, was admirable and I couldn’t help but feel extremely excited amidst the hustle and bustle of the city, as the crazy winds blew my hair (and practically my whole self) from left to right.

My travel outfit–for taking the bus from Boston to New York–was kept simple. Looking back, I actually think it’s the one that stands out the most from all my NYFW looks just because it was so classic. For half of my day 1 of New York Fashion Week, I wore:
Ava + Aiden Earrings (via Saks)
I can safely say that this was also the most comfortable outfit of them all, and I’m pretty sure you’ll agree with me once you see the next few posts that will go up. However, if there’s one thing New York Fashion Week is perfect for, it’s going all out with your outfit, and sometimes putting comfort (slightly, but not totally) on a backseat. Go big or go home, right?

For my first show Friday evening, the Chromat show (which you can see here in my vlog or on my Instagram), I wore the same sweater, but added a fun Indian/desi style twist to it, which ended up working out in my favor. Plus, my friend and I went to an Indian restaurant to eat dosas (South Indian traditional dish) right after the show! I wore:
Trupsel Bombay Cape + Pants Set
I knew going in that my outfit wouldn’t necessarily fit the same vibe as the show, since Chromat typically goes for more body conscious, uniquely cut, bright wear. Nonetheless, I went in full faith that I’d probably stand out amongst the rest of the show goers, and boy, was I right. I was asked by street style photographers at least 4 times to step outside for shots. Ladies, if there’s one thing I can tell you in regards to fashion, it’s the following: try not to follow the crowd.
