Wake up, smell the bagels, and open the curtains to that gorgeous city view–it was day 2 of New York Fashion Week, and you could just feel it! I remember feeling inspired by seeing so many taxis on my first day when I was thinking of my total look. For a day full of shows, from Custo Barcelona, to Yuna Yang, I wore:

Ann Taylor Pants (belt as a tie)
Nordstrom Iridescent Chandelier Earrings
Roger Vivier Metallic Heels (via YOOX)
Emilio Pucci Vintage Bag

I decided, too, to hop on a trend that I’ve really loved seeing as of late: hair pins. Let’s get one thing straight: hair accessories reminiscent of 90’s fashion and style are back in such a big way. In fact, the current London Fashion Week street style shots reveal that it’s a worldwide trend. Don’t just take my word for it–check out this wonderful post on the 90’s Barrette: The Hair Accessory to Stock Up On Now!
I know a lot of women have been wearing the clips with words on it (like Aimee of Song of Style with her “feelings” pin, or Brittany Xavier of Thrifts and Threads with her “glam” pins), but I personally prefer playing with colors rather than words. I just think colors can express my mood in a way words cannot. I cannot sum up my feelings, mood, or look in just one word, which is why it’s always tough for me to answer the following question I get quite often: How would you describe your style in one word?
Anyone else have trouble with that question? I know I’m probably not the only one, haha.
P.S. if you’re curious to see all of Day 2 and how it actually went down, check out my NYFW Day 2 vlog!
