I’m a firm believer in making the right choices to achieve maximum productivity. Life gives you plenty of opportunities–every minute, no–every second, to make choices. Often we fail to realize this, but it’s in the little choices that we make that the arc of our entire lives form. Think about it: how many times have we chosen to skip our workout one day and then fallen into a cycle of making excuses to continue skipping it for weeks or months on end?

Owing to the fact that we are such creatures of habit, it’s important to implement habits of self-care every day, without fail. If not, we might end up a little like I was a few weeks back–not knowing where time had gone, feeling completely worn out, out of touch with who I was and what I actually wanted in life, and–despite getting up, dressing well, and applying makeup–feeling ugly because I had zero mind-space to appreciate the beauty behind what I was doing, the beauty behind my inner being, and simply–the beauty behind life.
What I’m really saying is–you should find a Sunday in every day. Every day should include a miniature version of “unproductive lazy time” because, in truth, it helps you re-align with your purpose. Instead of working yourself like a machine every weekday without taking a second to breathe, and then letting yourself laze an entire Sunday, and feeling slightly guilty, build do-nothing time into your daily life. In doing so, you’re creating a routine for yourself wherein you wont have to feel sorry for taking time for yourself. You’ll be normalizing a much needed balance that will actually work towards making you more productive in the times you need to be.
Make the choice to do nothing, and try not to make the excuse that you’re simply too busy to do so from time to time.
It’s NOT a luxury, it’s a necessity.
