Fashion week has officially ended, but I refuse to let the excitement die down. We’ve got Valentines Day just around the corner, and whether you’re celebrating with someone you love, or flying solo and flaunting your self-love, there’s no better feeling than absolutely killing it with your look for the day. Based on street style trends this past AW20 season in New York, and a few shows I’ve attended, I’ve come up with a brilliant list of ways you can make sure your outfit this V-day is as on trend as possible. Here’s how to dress on 2/14 according to NYFW trends!
Take a Bow

Whether it’s one you tie in your hair or around your waist, the bigger the better when it comes to bows from now on. Go ahead and take a bow if you are going to nail this trend! Need some more inspiration before you try it out? Check out this post on how to wear a hair bow like a pro.
Sport Soft Purple with Red

When I pick my NYFW wardrobe, I always try to get a feel for what colors have been low-key standouts, and pair those shades with colors that would otherwise be unconventional. Well, it looks like I wasn’t the only one thinking soft purple/lavender and red was a good idea! Above is just my example, but I can think of plenty others I saw with my own two eyes wearing this beautiful combo. Here’s another lovely show go-er wearing the color combo like a pro.
This trend is perfect for all of you who are sick and tired of mixing pink with red on V-day. Could purple be the new pink? Well, let’s just say there’s still a really gorgeous pink out there that you may want to consider before COMPLETELY ruling it out…
Pick The Right Pink from the Pantone Color Prediction

Pantone’s Fall 2020 Color, Rose Tan, is one that’s so subtle and suave, you won’t feel like your outfit is screaming when you’re celebrating Valentines Day this year. It seems the hot way to wear the shade is on a long, button down coat, but hey–anything you can get your hands on in this shade–grab it before it’s all gone. See more images of how street style stars are wearing this trend here on WWD, or here on Refinery29.
Let’s face it, as overrated as Valentine’s Day sometimes feels, we’ve still got to make sure we look our best for all those parties, events, and/or outings we have surrounding the celebration. Often, if we look our best, then we feel our best–and nothing shows self-love like the good old pairing of a stunning outfit with an even more gorgeous smile.
Happy Valentine’s Day to you all!
XOXO,
