Let’s talk about how to style yellow in Spring. Various publications such as The Tribune have pegged mellow yellow as a color to look out for in Spring 2021. I wanted to do a focus on my favorite mellow yellow pants from Roberto Cavalli, and the three ways I styled them!
Personally, I find these jeans pair best with maroon on my skin tone, and this pairing works just as well for Fall as it does for Spring. Here’s a breakdown on what I’m wearing in each look:
Fashion Editor Vibes
I’m not sure what compelled me to pull a look like this together; perhaps I had spent too much time flipping through the pages of Vogue. Anyhow, this is definitely something for a more experimental person. I wore a yellow blazer by Hypeach with the yellow Roberto Cavalli jeans, and instead of wearing a top inside, I strategically placed a maxi twilly by Hermes inside, belting it all together with a maroon belt from an eShakti dress. The twilly I’m wearing has maroon, navy blue, and mustard yellow in it, but I couldn’t find the exact one online. The shoes are by Tidra pumps by Manolo Blahnik.
Sometimes simplicity can be the most elegant on a woman. I wore an off-shoulder silk maroon top by Tibi and tucked it into my yellow Roberto Cavalli jeans. I finished the look off with a yellow Bottega Veneta Cassette bag, in a little bit of a brighter yellow. You might have seen this look as one of the few I shared in “How to Style A Bottega Veneta Cassette Bag.”
Fun With Patterns
In India, oriental prints are a huge part of our dressing sense. This silk coat is definitely Asian inspired, and is something I picked up on a recent trip to India. I never knew how to wear it, but figured since the print had hints of yellow in it, that wearing full on yellow underneath would create the necessary balance for the outfit. I wore my Roberto Cavalli yellow pants with a yellow silk top underneath the coat! Again, I couldn’t find this exact coat online but there are certainly plenty similar on the market. The simple black heels are by Roger Vivier.
Are you a fan of the fashion editor, color blocking, or patterned look on this mellow yellow trend? Either way, I hope you learned a quick little something on how to style yellow this Spring!
Until next time.
